Photovoltaics

The solar energy, reduced through the atmosphere, ultimately reaches the earth’s surface as light and heat. The remaining radiation energy can be absorbed and converted partly into electricity, without discharge of waste products such as exhaust gases.

Solar cells, assembled together into solar modules, are used for the conversion which is accomplished through photoelectric effect.

The generated energy can be used on-site (isolated system), stored I accumulators or fed into the power supply network. With regard to the feeding into the public power network, the generated DC voltage is transformed into A.C. voltage by an inverter.

Due to the fact that the sun practically provides unlimited energy, the photovoltaic market is a very sustainable increasing branch. The currently installed world wide production capacity in the solar area accounts for around 30 Gigawatt.
